WIP Hand Wireframe

I used Mudbox for creating the highest level version of this model, the image I posed before. Then, I converted all details into Normal map. It's kind of similar concept to Bump map by making low models seem higher in details than they really are when rendering.

Yes #1 is mine. Maya are you saying all the crysis are done by normal map? Whats the advantgae of using normal map other than bumpmap or displacementmap? Thats my 2 questions Professor May. hehe
oh and do you use msn?

Using Bump map, details seem flatter. It only changes surface's level just a little. Good for making surface not so smooth. Anyway, it's hard to control...
Using Displacement map, it's a better way to get details but... causes Maya's file heavier so you'll get longer time for rendering.

If your PC is fast enough, you should go for both. Displacement map for big change of surface's level and Bump map for small details on surface...

People use Normal map for game modeling... in this case, I just wanna try :)

maytiporn@hotmail.com, but I rarely use msn...

May, thx for the information. Now I want to try normal map.
I am on msn almost all the time so maybe someday I'll see you there hehe.
Do you prefer to be called professor May or professor Thamtarana?

Hey, May,

Thanks a lot for posting the wireframe. =D Displacement map, bump map, normal map... oy. I'm not quite sure how they're all different. Cool hand, nonetheless.

Side question: Are you going to be teaching the Art 355A class? I'm thinking about taking the modeling class again for elective credit. If you're not an impossible grader, I might really sign up for your class next semester. =P

"May the force be with you" <- Haha. -.-;;

For maps, there is nothing difficult but it may take you a while to be familiar with. For the modeling class, Larry told me that he's already sent my name to be a teacher so it's pretty sure I'll teach that class. You're also very welcome to be in class, if you want and don't worry about grade as well.

See ya:P

Hi May!
Congratulation! I'm sure there will be a lot of students in your class, man! Hopefully you can reserve for me a seat! :). I'm working hard to get a job here at Mattel, everything going well. A lot of works, and I'm learning a lot too. But I really want to take your class next fall because what you're showing here are perfect and nice!
Hey! Please email me and let me know your address. I'm going to drive to school and give you the paper for my intern class. Please let me know when you're available and where. Thanks a lot for helping me in advance!
See you at school Professor May! ^__^

Thanks Nick:)
Good to know you're happy with your work. I also believe that you could make it to be your full-time job without anything to worry. You're good enough:)
I go to campus on Mon,Wed and Fri. If you want to give me the papers, please call me first. I think I'm available everyday except this weekend for sure(July 4,5,6)
For the class, you're very welcome, if you want. But please don't mind with my english speaking... anyway, I still have time to prepare dealing with it.

Are you home on Thursday July 3? I need to turn in the paper on Monday July 7. I have Thursday and Friday off, so can I drive to school and give you the paper. If you can, please let me know! Otherwise, I don't know what to do! :) Are you going to have a mini vacation this weekend? It's great to take break! :) My family and friends are going to Vietnam this Thursday, too. I have to stay here and work! Anyway, thank you very much for helping me! I owe you one, I'll treat you a meal when we get back to school! Hehehhe ^_^
